Current and Future Projects

Butte Valley Community Park

Ore-Cal RC&D propose to build a 4,650 square foot community center (Center) along Highway 97 adjacent to the City of Dorris. The Center, a lodge pole pine building, is planned for completion by 3/1/2011. The building (Phase 1) will anchor the park development and activities ranging from youth education to food distribution for low-income families. The Center will serve as a hub for Butte Valley, eastern Siskiyou and southern Klamath Counties. It will showpiece our community, create a positive image consistent with our areas rural life style, history and traditions for Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway travelers and others. In addition to the Community Center Building there is a planned Jr. Rodeo Arena, Shooting Range, outdoor food facilities, hiking and bird trails.

Malin Municipal Airport
The City of Malin has planned for improvements to the Malin Municipal Airport which will enhance the economic viability to the area and community. The intent of this project is to increase the usefulness of the rural airport by paving the gravel runway and taxiway. Within the scope of this project will be the addition of an area to park emergency vehicles, land medical helicopters, and fuel aircraft as needed.
